Dean and Darlene

I met Darlene over a year ago for a set of maternity photos. The little one has finally arrived, learned to walk, and has turned into the adorable ball of energy named Dean. I met up with the dynamic duo and the rest of the family at a park in Berkeley.

We even got to stop off at the Goorin Brothers hat shop in Berkeley on the way home for Dean to show off his swanky sense of style (and hat throwing technique).

Tai Chi Photos

This past weekend I took a break from weddings and got to do a fun portrait shoot with Nathan, a local Taiji (Tai Chi) instructor in San Francisco. He was looking for some photos that he could use on his website, brochures, health club listings etc. It was fun to work with another small business owner, and we had a blast with the short creative project. While I mainly do wedding photography, I have occasion once in a while to branch out and explore some other genres. I met with Irene and her husband Yoon to do a combination pregnancy and portrait shoot at their home. I took it upon myself to invent a bit of my own style with this one, trying to capture a bit of the relationship, love, and fun that the two have together- while at the same time taking the opportunity to document the wonderful phase of life that they are going through. Pregnancy can be about the relationship of the couple and the new baby, it is also about shapes and a unique and beautiful change to the body. I tried to do a bit of everything- and had a lot of fun. Pregnancy photography? Maternity photography? Here are a few of my favorites.
