Santorini Destination Engagement Shoot | David + Jenna

I met up with David and Jenna for a destination engagement shoot, my second photoshoot this year on the beautiful Greek island of Santorini. Its unique blue domed churches and whitewashed walls peer over the cliffs into the Mediterranean below. It’s quite a tourist destination, but for good reason, it’s absolutely one of the most beautiful locations in the world. We spent an unforgettable afternoon and evening taking photos around the artistic town of Oia before settling in to watch the sunset. I’ll be back again to Santorini soon, and I’m already looking forward to it!

Tensing Pen Wedding | Jen + Rob

Jen and Rob were my hosts for their wedding at the fabulous Tensing Pen Resort in Negril, Jamaica. This was my third time back at Tensing Pen, an absolutely beautiful and secluded location, nestled into black volcanic cliffs that drop into the Caribbean. Jen and Rob were joined by their boisterous collection of friends and family, with heavy representation from a variety of New York’s finest fire and police departments. Leaving the work behind, we spent a wonderful wedding week splashing in the waves, cliff diving, trying a Red Stripe or two and then finishing off with a sunset ceremony. Weddings are an unpredictable event, and I must say that this was one of the most unique and challenging experiences I’ve had, as a heavy tropical storm came down just in time for the ceremony, with heavy rains and crashing thunder and lightning. With fast fading light and dancing through the rain and lightning bolts we managed to get a truly unique set of images before settling in for an enthusiastic night of dancing and revelry.

You actually got lightning into a wedding photo? I’ve never seen that before. So cool!

Your international work is wonderful! Great work controlling the light. Looks great but also looks like you hit some rough weather and really made the most of it!

This was the most amazing wedding ever and Noah did such a great job at capturing all the special moments. He is truly gifted at his craft!

San Francisco Engagement | Josh + Amanda

I met up with Amanda and Josh for an engagement shoot along San Francisco’s infamous Embarcadero Street. I met Amanda years ago through UCSF where she is just finishing up in the Pharmacy program, though am just getting to know her fun and talented fiance Josh. We stepped out into some of the varied piers that wander into the bay, and then back into the modern architecture, finishing up in front of Josh’s fabulous restaurant Saison over by China Basin for a more personal touch.

San Francisco Engagement | Kelly + Chris

One year out from their big day I met up with Kelly and Chris for a photo session spanning San Francisco, ranging from the industrial SOMA district, to Twin Peaks and Golden Gate Park. Kelly is originally from San Francisco, so it was a great homecoming and chance to reconnect with the city after the long drive up from Southern California.

San Francisco Theological Seminary Wedding | Marta + Trevor

Marta and Trevor are two of the kindest and most genuine people I’ve had the pleasure of working with in my wedding photography career. Classmates with some of my prior clients, the pair recently finished up with graduate school and are launching into exciting professional careers with the transition topped off by their new marriage. The pair tied the knot at the San Francisco Theological Seminary, a church and campus nestled in the hills above San Anselmo a few minutes from SF. The rainy and foggy morning parted just in time for the ceremony in what turned out to be a gorgeous day filled with revelry and a wonderful acknowledgment of the friends and family who were part of the journey.

San Francisco Engagement Shoot | Tony + Janine

Tony and Janine will be getting married this next summer, and we headed out to some of the classic sights of San Francisco as well as some hidden gems that the couple picked out for their engagement photos. It’s always fascinating how I can take pictures many different times at one location, but the resulting product is always really unique. That was readily apparent at Crissy Field, with a classic and beautiful lookout over the Golden Gate Bridge, now with the Mark di Suvero SFMOMA sculptures placed around for a modern art twist on the usual photo props. We then wandered around to a few other places around SF, including the secluded Inner Fog wine bar in the Inner Sunset where the couple had their first date. I love the resulting photos from that spot as I can so easily imagine what their first outing might have looked and felt like years ago.

Auberge du Soleil Engagement | Crystal + Adam

Crystal and Adam were married in Canada and wanted a set of post wedding photos at the absolutely stunning Auberge du Soleil resort where they were staying in Napa as part of their honeymoon retreat. Auberge du Soleil is quickly becoming one of my favorite places in Napa with its refined and luxurious grounds, attentive staff and picture perfect location.
