Shirley and Will are friends of mine from back in the Berkeley days. Both are now medical students, and taking their next big step. Their wedding took place at the St. John’s Church in San Francisco, with the reception dinner at the Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant in Emmeryville. The Chinese dinner was 10 courses of pure delight, with a fantastic view over the bay towards San Francisco. It was a lighthearted and fun day. Will composed a song just for Shirley which he crooned out while playing guitar. Afterwards Shirley had to read an X-ray of Will during the reception to make sure she could take care of him in case of any future accidents. While she did miss the collapsed lung on the film – I think the lighting might have had something to do with it. These are two of the kindest people I know, and I’m sure that they will be absolutely perfect for each other.
Thanks to Nancy Tsai for another set of fantastic images.
The two sisters getting mom ready.
This is my favorite shot of the day. A moment of quiet before the ceremony when everything is ready.
The Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood restaurant, possibly the best Chinese banquet location in the Bay Area (plus it has an amazing view!).
