David & Uyen | Stanford Memorial Church Wedding | Tamarine Restaurant Reception

I’ve photographed several weddings at Stanford’s Memorial Church over the last few years. With it’s impressive architecture and beautiful sand colored columns, it has to be one of my favorite locations for a wedding in the Bay Area. Combine that with a stunning bride, and a wedding party that was full of energy and you have David and Uyen’s wedding. I had a blast, and took some of my favorite shots from Stanford.

After the ceremony we went to the Arastradero Preserve for a few photos, and then on to the wedding reception at the Tamarine Restaurant in downtown Palo Alto. It’s one of my favorite restaurants on the Peninsula, and was a wonderful way to finish off the wedding day.

And a few from the dinner reception at Tamarine. A restaurant dinner reception is usually all about the food (and a bit of wine in this case too). So I have to put in at least one food photo. Yummy! Here’s some of the grilled sea bass that was probably my favorite.

This weekend I had the pleasure of working with Andrew and Suzy, a wonderful couple who tied the knot at the beautiful Stanford Memorial Church. I’m always happy to get back to my old stomping grounds, and this wedding was well worth the trip. After the ceremony we drove over to the San Francisco Asian Art Museum, one of my new favorite locations in the Bay Area for a wedding ceremony or a reception. It has big, classical columns, a classy stairway entrance, and is located right in the center of the city.

I joined the talented Andi Hatch to start everything off at Suzy’s Menlo Park Appartment before heading over to the Stanford Church. I really liked the birds-eye angle over the ceremony. It gave a great alternative angle, and it was super fun to be able to try something different to find a really different perspective.

Then came the spectacular Asian Art Museum. With custom lighting, fabulous food, and a toe-tapping brass band, this was a beautiful and fun-filled evening. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day:

Matthew and Tracie had their wedding at the gorgeous Stanford Memorial Church, with the reception at the San Mateo History Museum. Both we just fantastic locations and I had a fantastic time working with the great architecture, mixed in with an energetic and fun group of people. Going to school at Stanford, I had been to the Memorial Church several times for various events, but this was my first time doing a wedding at the church, or around the Stanford campus. I have seen many photographers and couples wandering around the big arches and hallways around the central courtyard. It was fun to get the chance to make my own images from the area (and I think we did pretty well too). Matthew was an undergraduate and law student at Stanford, and there were a lot of other people from the Stanford community around the wedding- so it was a sentimental location for all involved.

The reception was fantastic too, with a great live band, and a really neat downtown location to work with for pictures. Thanks so much to Matthew and Tracie for the opportunity to shoot your weddings, and I hope you enjoy your trip to Costa Rica!
